What are the minimum system requirements to run Calxa?

Most computers purchased in the past 3 years should be adequate to run your software. You will need:

  • Windows XP (Service Pack 3 or later), Windows Vista or Windows 7. We recommend Windows 7 professional editions
  • Windows Server 2003, 2008 and 2008 R2 are supported. We recommend reading the Terminal Server support note before installation. We have a number of customers successfully running Calxa in a Citrix environment but we are limited in the assistance we can provide.
  • Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 SP1
  • CPU 2GHz or better
  • 2 GB or more of RAM
  • 500MB of free disk space for installation
  • Screen resolution 1024 x 768
  • Broadband internet connection to receive regular updates and enhancements and to register the software
  • We recommend using a SQL Server database in a multi-user environment

What accounting software works with Calxa?

Calxa can be used with any of the following Accounting products:
  • MYOB Accounting 17 to AccountRight Standard 19.7 (Australia or New Zealand)
  • MYOB Accounting Plus 17 to AccountRight Plus 19.7 (Australia or New Zealand)
  • MYOB Premier 11 to AccountRight Premier 19.7 (Australia or New Zealand)
  • QuickBooks Pro, Premier and Enterprise 2010/11
  • QuickBooks Pro, Premier and Enterprise 2011/12
  • QuickBooks Pro, Premier and Enterprise 2012/13
  • Xero

Note that support for AccountRight 2011 is awaiting updates to the ODBC connection from MYOB and is not yet supported.

Unfortunately MYOB AccountEdge 2011 for the Mac environment can no longer be supported

Xero support does not include Tracking Categories at this stage so we would recommend Calxa Express for Xero users. We expect to integrate departmental and project budgeting in the near future.

Will Calxa work on a Mac?

Unfortunately we can no longer support users of MYOB AccountEdge. While this was previously possible using Windows through Parallels or similar tools, it will not be in the future.

Where can I get training on Calxa?

What happens when my subscription expires?

Because Calxa software is licensed on a periodic basis, you must renew your licence in order to continue using it. If your subscription expires, the application will become read-only. This means that

  • you can still access all your information
  • you can still run reports
  • you can still export budget information
  • you won’t be able to update actuals from your accounting system
  • you won’t be able to create new budgets
  • you won’t be able to edit existing budgets

For these reasons we recommend you promptly renew your subscription when it is due. Monthly payment options are available.
